* Site stat counters can be added to your site. David King Web Development uses a third party stat counter to monitor site traffic. Please note stat counters are not part of the standard design but can be added to the site upon request.

Domains

Website address domains can be purchased on your behalf or you can undertake this task yourself but under an ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) ruling the owners' details must be given in full even if you are not the administrator. 

Hosting

Hosting is the place where your website is held on-line for others to see. David King Web Development use a third party hosting company based in the USA: 'GoDaddy.com'. 'GoDaddy' is the world's largest supplier of web site domain names and supports the latest web server technology.

Domains

  1. A domain can be purchased on your behalf so just let use know your preferred name and we will check the availability.
  2. If you have a purcahsed a name we can also use this either with your own hosting or transfer / point it to a host.
  3. Hosting packages vary depending on your needs (ask for a quote)
  4. Customers own hosting accounts can be used as long as the FTP (File Transfer Program) logins and passwords are supplied.

Web Hosting Plan

'GO Daddy' is used by webmasters across the world to host business web sites. Their easy interface allows for web sites to grow as you grow. David King Web Development will manage the setup of the hosting account for you and customise the setting to suit your specific needs. There is no need for any technical expertise on your part.

File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

You can, if you wish, maintain your own website once it has been built. Using a FTP program you can access and update the files that sit on your server. Some of our clients maintain their own sites however this is not recommended for people without previous experience of using web design programs and FTP

'Go Daddy' provides an unprecedented up time of 99.9%. 'Go Daddy': offers high speed server technology for fast and reliable web presentation and email services. In my opinion they are simply the best on the net.

If you currently have a domain and server package usually there is no need to change or swap these over. We can use your current serer package however prior to work being carried out a few tests will be required to see if your server can support the coding your new site may contain. If not no worries we can either work around it or advise you of some options either a server upgraded package or more.
